Former professional wrestler turned TV personality Tyrus had a conversation with Donald Trump on Thursday. The dialogue covered some charitable details from the former president’s life that have rarely been discussed. During the nearly 30 minute chat, Tyrus also made a unique proposal of the presidential candidate regarding his tax policy and how military and law enforcement personnel could benefit.
The two had discussed the mistreatment of first responders when Tyrus asked Trump — at about the 11:45 mark of the interview — a question regarding tax policy.
“Would you consider thinking about, for our veterans, for those who serve, for those of our police department, to where their taxation is giving their bodies to this country, instead of having to pay taxes. None of these cities want to give them raises, so at least let them keep their money,” Tyrus queried.
“You know,” Trump responded, “I’ve never heard that before and it’s a very interesting thing. It’s the kind of thing you would think of because they have been treated so terribly.”
During the ongoing conversation, Tyrus said, “It’s gonna take more than a hug. … It’s almost an incentive where you can get people interested.”
“Other countries do that as you know,” Trump said. “Yeah, it’s something I would think about.”
