PALM BEACH, Fla. – During a Tuesday press conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, President-elect Donald Trump said that he will be making some “major pardons” for defendants convicted over actions taken during the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021, the Western Journal reported.
“You said on your first day of office you were going to pardon Jan. 6 defendants. Are you planning to pardon those who were charged with violent offenses?” a reporter asked the incoming president.
“Well, we’re looking at it, and we have other people in there,” Trump said. “And as you see, I guess, 24 or 28 people came now from the FBI — that came out very quietly, nobody reported it — but they had people in some form related to the FBI.”
The president-elect was referring to a DOJ report released last month, which confirmed that 26 confidential human FBI sources were “in D.C. on January 6 in connection with the events.”
“We have to find out about Hezbollah. We have to find out about who exactly was in that whole thing because people that did some bad things were not prosecuted,” Trump declared.
“I see it all the time, and you see it, too,” Trump noted.
“People that were doing some bad things weren’t prosecuted, and people that didn’t even walk into the building were in jail right now.”
“We’ll be looking at the whole thing, but I’ll be making major pardons, yes,” Trump said.

According to the Post Millennial, Trump previously stated he would pardon individuals slapped with different charges and sentences stemming from J6 on a “case-by-case” basis during a Time Magazine interview late last year.
“I’m going to do case-by-case, and if they were non-violent, I think they’ve been greatly punished,” Trump said at the time.
The president-elect has had respected law enforcement use of force experts from outside the D.C. Beltway analyzing the cases and offering opinions.
