Update: 6/15/16, 3:30 PM (CST) – Authorities confirmed that the toddler was found dead. Five alligators have been euthanized and the investigation continues.
A toddler was dragged into the water by an alligator near Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The 2-year-old was dragged into the Seven Seas Lagoon about 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, authorities said.
Deputies are searching the waters for the toddler.
Seven Seas Lagoon is a large man made lake that is around several Disney World properties.
@MarthaSugalski stated that Disney removes gators from its lakes when they are too big according to park employees and that boats were deploying on the lake with trappers at 10:50 PM (CST).
Tikiman’s Unofficial Polynesian Resort Pages posted this photo on May 19th stating, “gator spotted off the shore of the Polynesian today.”
