A Chicago police officer was in good condition after being shot in the leg during a gunfight outside a South Side cellphone store Friday afternoon.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The officer was shot during an armed confrontation in the 4600 block of South Ashland Avenue about 1:30 p.m., according to Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
Fellow officers initially took officer, who was “conscious and alert” to Mercy Hospital in a squad car.
