Two sheriff’s deputies were shot Tuesday morning in the Yuba County town of Oregon House (CA).
The two officers were airlifted to Sutter Medical Center in Roseville, but their conditions have not been released.
The incident began about 9 a.m. when someone called the sheriff’s department about someone pulling marijuana plants out at a Rastafarian church at 9019 Marysville Road, the sheriff’s department said.
Deputies found the man on the long driveway leading up to the home, and a chase ensued. The man ran into a home and began shooting at the officers.
Two deputies were hurt in the gunfire, and officers fired shot back. The shooter got away, but it is unclear if he is locked in a building in the area or if he escaped into the rural area, officials said.
There is not a known description on the suspect yet.
