The Safariland Group Completes Acquisition of Certain Assets of Arveka TGS UAB

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The Safariland Group (the “Company”) through UAB Safariland International (“Safariland International”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Safariland, LLC, has acquired certain body armor and personal protection equipment assets from Arveka TGS UAB (“Arveka TGS”).

Arveka TGS, a design and manufacturing operation producing cutting-edge protective products and equipment primarily for law enforcement and military customers, was founded in July 2010. Located in Kaunas, Lithuania, Arveka has approximately 17 employees. Former principals of Arveka TGS, Giedre and Mantas Gasiunas, will continue on with Safariland International as Director of Design and General Manager, respectively. Likewise, Egidijus Skuzinskas, a principal and former Managing Director of Arveka TGS, will continue on as the Commercial Director for Safariland International.

"I am very excited to reunite with the team at Arveka TGS,” said Scott O’Brien, President of The Safariland Group. “Giedre was previously the Head of Design at a former unit of the Company based in the U.K., while we have been working with Egidijus for some time as one of our international distributors. We were extremely impressed with the depth and quality of the proprietary products Arveka TGS had designed for their line of body armor products, which is why we pursued this acquisition.”

Since The Safariland Group was acquired by an affiliate of Kanders and Company, Inc. in July 2012, one of its primary goals was to grow the business internationally. The Company recognizes that customer requirements outside of the core U.S. market are very different, and expects that the products and the manufacturing assets the Company has acquired from Arveka TGS will allow them to serve these markets much more quickly and efficiently than through organic product development.
