Two Camden County (NJ) Police Department officers were shot at a busy intersection Tuesday evening.
The officers’ wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, a police source said.
The shootings occurred around 8:30 p.m. at Broadway and Mount Vernon Street, police spokesman Dan Keashen said.
Both officers were rushed to Cooper University Hospital, he said.
No arrests were announced, as police were said to be looking for multiple suspects.
The shootings occurred on National Night Out, an annual celebration designed to build partnerships between police officers and the communities they serve. The Camden County Police Department was among those participating, with officers attending community events around the city.
