JACKSONVILLE, Florida – ABA® announced today that it has released several models in its Xtreme® SX ballistic package – a cutting-edge series of armor designs with the use of proprietary materials from Honeywell.  This SX family of armor solutions features the newest generation of Honeywell Spectra Shield®, a composite material made with high-strength, lightweight Spectra® fiber.  By incorporating these materials, the SX offers unmatched performance and comfort.  The SX combines comfort, flexibility and durability along with uncompromised protection, while also integrating aramid materials in its hybrid design.

³The SX is one of the most advanced designs we have ever created,² stated Tim O¹Brien, Category Director for the ABA brand.  ³Our goal was to create the thinnest, lightest and highest performing line of ballistics in the industry. Based on an early release of one model several months ago, the SX has already become the flagship product in the ABA Xtreme line.²

The Xtreme SX Female ballistic package offers outstanding protection and introduces a structured design that contours to the female form for a level of comfort unique to each body.  All Safariland concealable armor models are certified using NIJ approved size templates C1 and C5, which offer law enforcement the widest range of production sizes available.

The Xtreme SX family of body armor available now includes the standard model and a new female structured model in a type II threat level.  Following later this year will be IIIA threat level packages in both standard and female models.

In addition to the ABA Xtreme SX family of body armor, ABA offers a comprehensive list of other NIJ-06 concealable and tactical products, which are available and posted to the NIJ Compliant Products List (CPL) at https://www.justnet.org/index.html.
