BELLEVUE, Idaho — Bellevue Marshal Deputy Nate Silvester was fired last week after his viral social media video knocking LeBron James and he told First Coast News that he has no regrets, and that he would have probably done it sooner if given the chance.

Bellevue Mayor Ned Burns posted on the city’s Facebook page Thursday morning that Bellevue Marshal deputy Nate Silvester was terminated effective May 27, 2021.

Silvester said that when he heard about it, he was shocked but not surprised.

“It was disappointing because I do love being a police officer but it’s unfortunate that you cant do that job and have first amendment rights like everyone else.”

Silvester made the video on TikTok and he later deleted it but that would matter not to politicians.

Burns posted on the city of Bellevue’s Facebook page that Silvester was terminated after violating several clearly established city and state policing policies.

For his part, Silvester says that it is frustrating that an opinion or video would matter than actual police work.

Silvester now plans to advocate for other officers

“I’ve been given a platform and a stage now and a voice to speak on behalf of law enforcement and use that influence to benefit other police officers,” Silvester told First Coast News.
