Topeka (KS) Police confirm one of their officers has been injured following a shootout in the Oakland neighborhood.
Reports indicate that officers responded to reports of an armed robbery near the intersection of NE Woodruff and NE Atchison at 7:45 Saturday evening when they received a call that shots were fired.

Police say a suspect exchanged gunfire with police at the scene. One officer was struck by bullets and taken to a local hospital. He is listed in fair condition.
Police also confirm a suspect was struck by bullets. His condition is not known at this time.
