North Carolina Police Officer Shot At Wal-Mart Disturbance

Two police officers are recovering after being assaulted inside a Walmart Sunday.

According to WRAL, It happened around 9 p.m. at the Walmart on S. Main Street. Police say they were called for a man trespassing inside the store who refused to leave.

Police say Tyler Carrico, 26, tried to flee when police began checking him for warrants. One officer was shot in the hand, and a second was punched, as Carrico attempted again to flee.

Both officers suffered minor injuries.

Carrico will be charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor assault and injury to personal property.
