TROY, Mich. — The Sterling Heights Police Department, Mich. is replacing their current public safety system with a new solution that will greatly improve efficiency and offer much greater functionality and integration for the Police and Fire Departments. The Sterling Heights Police Department has signed a contract to license New World Systems’ Aegis/MSP Public Safety Solution on the Microsoft platform. New World’s solutions will enable the Police and Fire Departments to utilize the same public safety software system, improve communication and increase access to information.

“Fully implemented, New World’s solutions will give our police and fire personnel state-of-the-art tools to protect the residents of Sterling Heights,” said Assistant City Manager Michael Bartholomew.

A former New World customer, the Sterling Heights Police Department was able to return to the Company and replace their current system with New World’s Aegis/MSP Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management, Mobile Computing and Field-Based Reporting software for both police and fire. Needing a solution that would provide them more integration between police and fire operations and software that was easy to use and maintain, the Police Department determined that New World was a perfect fit.

“New World’s solution is top notch and exactly what we were looking for,” said Captain Tom Fett. “We already know the Company’s values and have always had a very positive experience with them. We were very pleased that New World was so willing to work with us and form a new partnership to make this happen.”

New World’s solutions are developed in-house using proven Microsoft technology, industry-standard Windows Server and SQL Server. Built-in electronic workflow and a familiar Windows environment will dramatically ease navigation, save time and improve reporting for Sterling Heights officers. New World’s CAD with embedded GIS mapping and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) will empower the Police and Fire Departments to better manage and use resources resulting in improved emergency response for more than 127,000 City residents.

“We are looking forward to re-establishing and strengthening our positive relationship with New World,” said Police Chief Mike Reese. “We are anxious to use their completely integrated solutions to allow the Police Department and Fire Department to interface in new ways.”

For the first time, the Sterling Heights Fire Department will be able to utilize CAD and Mobile software designed to improve communication and access to information for firefighters. Integration between police and fire solutions will greatly improve reporting, planning and overall public safety efficiency for Sterling Heights.

According to Captain Fett, New World also offers numerous options for the Police Department to configure the solutions to best meet their unique needs and maintain the system on their own with the help of the Company’s superior Service and 24×7 Support teams, something that was not possible with their previous system.

“Public safety software has become instrumental to us in doing our job,” said Captain Fett. “From easing system maintenance to improving communication and how we manage our resources, New World’s software will make us much more efficient, which is so critically important during these difficult times in the public sector.”

New World Systems, a public sector software company in Troy, Michigan, has provided software solutions for public safety and public administration organizations since 1981.The Company designs, develops, markets, supports and implements the fully integrated Logos Public Administration Suite for local governments and the Aegis Public Safety Suite for Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS.
