WESTBURY, N.Y. — Spectronics Corporation has introduced the new and improved OFK-7000 OPTIMAX Multi-Lite LED Forensic Light Source Kit. It features a cordless, rechargeable flashlight with seven Qwik-Connect interchangeable LED lamp heads for expanded usage in crime-scene investigation, gathering potential evidence and forensic laboratory work.

The seven LED lamp heads provide single-wavelength illumination in UV-A, blue, cyan, green, amber, red and white light, and are used for a wide variety of forensic applications. This new kit is an improved version of the OFK-6000 kit, which only contained six LEDs. The OFK-7000 now includes a cyan LED lamp head, which is used to detect Rhodamine 6G, DFO or Indanedione latent fingerprints.

The lightweight flashlight (only 15 oz) is rugged and corrosion-resistant. It has a black-anodized aluminum body that stands up to heavy use in the field. Powered by a NiMH battery, the lamp provides 90 minutes of continuous service between charges. A detachable diffusing filter, another new feature of the OFK-7000 kit, provides soft lighting for forensic photography.

The OFK-7000 kit comes complete with the OPTIMAX flashlight, seven interchangeable LED heads, three contrasting filters (yellow, orange and red), AC and DC battery chargers, four pairs of spectacles and a diffusing filter, all packed in a padded carrying case.

For more information about the OPTIMAX Multi-Lite LED Forensic Light Source Kit, call toll-free 1-800-274-8888. Outside the United States and Canada, call 516-333-4840. Website at www.spectroline.com.
