We have continued to talk about the amazing story of Greenwood (AR) K-9 Kina. Following the deadly ambush of Sebastian County Cpl. Bill Cooper on August 10, 2016, K9 Kina was shot twice and fled the area. Despite her wounds while wearing a vest in the heat, Kina was located two days later. She returned to work just 12 days later.
Her handler, Greenwood Corporal Dennis Wisner announced the award on his Facebook page, “K-9 Kina was awarded the Purple Heart today. I’m humbled and honored to be her handler.”
