Hotel On Lockdown As Gunman Fires At Police Officers

KSHB reports that the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Kansas City (KS) is on lockdown after a hotel guest fired multiple gunshots at police officers.

Authorities were called to the 500 block of Minnesota around 12:30 a.m. Friday.  The standoff was still going on as of 8:30 a.m.

According to officials, the gunman fired numerous shots at officers from the door of his third floor hotel room. No officers have been injured at the time of this report.

The gunman is still barricaded inside his room. Police have fired several cans of tear gas into the hotel window in effort to drive out the suspect.
