President Trump will light the White House in blue on Monday night to honor fallen police officers.
The announcement came before his visit to Capitol Hill to memorialize officers killed in the line of duty.
“In humble appreciation of our hard-working law enforcement officers, Melania and I will light the White House in blue on May 15,” Trump announced in a statement.
A request last year for President Obama to light the White House In blue was rejected by that administration.
