Witnesses said the train never slowed down, crashing through barriers into the terminal’s reception area. Photos showed major structural damage to the Lackawana Station, including a crumbled wall and mangled beams. More than 100 patients needed treatment, emergency workers said.
Hoboken has the highest percentage of transit ridership of any city in the country. More than 50,000 people use the terminal daily.
