CALIFORNIA — There have been a lot of people dissatisfied with Gov. Gavin Newsom of California over a variety of issues. Now his adversaries have reached the objective in their recall efforts and it’s officially been placed on the ballot and scheduled for Sept. 14.
The political uprising was primarily driven by widespread angst over coronarvirus orders that shut down schools and businesses, KTLA reported. Voters believed Newsom extended his authority too far, now they’ll get a chance send him packing.
California is the country’s most populous state. Therefore, the recall will be a marquee contest with national implications as we head toward 2022 elections, when the power of Congress could swing.
The state’s lieutenant governor on Thursday set the date for the political event after officials certified that enough valid petition signatures had been turned in to qualify the election for the ballot.
