HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A police pursuit near Houston terminated with a big splash when the driver of the suspect vehicle crashed into a pool early Friday morning, according to a report.
Police say the sequence of events began when a suspect threatened a woman with a gun at a gas station and proceeded to steal her Honda CRV. As the reporting officer was taking the victim’s statement, the recently stolen vehicle drove by, News4SA reported.
As a result, officers tried to stop the suspect, but soon found themselves engaged in a vehicle pursuit as the suspect fled, trying to evade police. Officers chased the suspect, until the driver lost control and crashed the vehicle through a fence and into a pool about 3:15 a.m.
The driver escaped, but police rescued a passenger from the water and took the person into into custody, according to the news outlet. They are still looking for the suspect who got away.
