Introducing ATLAS 8 Laser Training System

Chandler, AZ – The Salted Earth announces today successful demonstration and preproduction of ATLAS 8, an adaptive dry-fire system poised to revolutionize laser training. The rugged, networkable LED light panel works with all laser cartridges and inert laser training pistols currently available, and offers advanced features and adaptability available nowhere else on the market.

In an era of ever increasing concern for safety, law enforcement officers and civilians struggle with how, and where, to get enough training with their firearms to be confident and fully effective in critical situations. Law enforcement specifically is often met with woefully limited range time and minimal immersive training for real world scenarios. Additionally, budget concerns can often dictate less than ideal availability for live-fire training of any kind. So too for the civilian sector, who are met with ammo shortages, a high cost and inconvenience in traveling to the firing range, and the inability to train safely in their homes.

While there are a number of dry-fire and laser training products currently available, inherent flaws within these systems – like lack of durability, limited adaptability; reliability issues, and often complex, bulky set-ups – make immersive training in real world environments difficult at best.

“ATLAS 8 is unique because it is designed to be used in an array of realistic training environments right out of the box,” explains CEO and engineer, Philip Haasnoot. “The law enforcement and military versions of the trainers are designed to meet IP67 specifications, dust proof and water resistant down to 1 meter. This environmental immunity allows trainings to occur in even the most austere environments, like summer in the Arizona desert.”

Unlike other systems, the ATLAS 8 can wirelessly communicate with multiple units, detect multiple laser colors, and differentiate between lasers and flashlights to enable low-light training. This allows any building to be turned into a dry-fire shoot-house for individual and team training in day and night scenarios. The network––or even just a single trainer–– can be programmed manually, or through the use of The Salted Earth’s mobile or desktop application. This flexibility gives organizations and individual trainees the ability to track performance over time, and assess which skills have improved, and which require additional attention.

“The ATLAS system is an effective tool for creating immersive training environments for

Law Enforcement agencies, such as training for active shooter scenarios, hostage rescue, and close-quarters combat,” says Haasnoot. “Our products give departments the ability to train more often and achieve higher levels of readiness while at the same time reducing cost and manpower requirements. Training standards evolve over time to meet ever-changing mission requirements. That is inevitable. The ATLAS system enables departments to rely on one training device that can be adapted to any need.”

“Our primary markets for the ATLAS system are North American law enforcement, domestic military, and North American civilians,” says Haasnoot. “We are currently stress testing the ATLAS system and are actively seeking interested North American law enforcement agencies to partner with for field trials.”

An official release date is anticipated in Q42015 or early 2016, but is still to be determined.
