OAKLAND, Calif. — BART invites the public to meetings Monday and Tuesday in San Francisco and Oakland to share their views on the quality of BART police services.
A team of BART consultants from the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, called NOBLE, will host the forums 6:30 Monday at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, 2868 Mission St., San Francisco, and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the BART Board meeting room on the third floor of the Kaiser Center, 344 20th St., Oakland.
The BART Board commissioned NOBLE to conduct a top-to-bottom review of transit police procedures, training and culture after the New Year's shooting of an unarmed passenger by a transit officer, who has since been charged with murder.
