A man was killed and two Casselberry (FL) police officers were injured in a shootout early Saturday after responding to a domestic violence call at a home. Two other officers responding to the home were not hurt.
The suspect, identified as James Lee Parran, age 65, was later found dead in the doorway of the home. It is not clear at this time what the cause of his death was.

Parran had called police to the home saying that he had beaten his wife. When officers arrived, he met them at the door with a shotgun. Four officers fired their weapons and retreated from the home.
The two officers had minor injuries. Both were treated at a hospital and released.
At a morning news conference, Casselberry Police Chief Larry Krantz said that his “officers acted admirably when faced with this situation.”
Witnesses claimed to have heard 50 or 60 gunshots during the ordeal.
Parran had no history of violence and was a military veteran.
His wife was not present in the home when the shooting occurred.
