PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – A school teacher was discovered in a very compromising situation at an elementary school in Florida on Thanksgiving day. The man was allegedly found naked inside the school with a stash of sex toys and marijuana, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department.

Officers were dispatched about 9:30 p.m. to the Windmill Point Elementary School regarding a report of a possible burglary. Upon arrival, police located an unclothed male adult inside a classroom.

The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Joe Urias, authorities confirmed, WJAC reported.

According to Port St. Lucie Police, the suspect noticed the presence of officers. As a result, he quickly dressed and tried to flee through the back of the school. In the process, he reportedly punched an officer, but was eventually taken into custody as additional cops arrived.

An investigation revealed the presence of a makeshift place to sleep at the school, clothing, sex toys, and women’s underwear as well as marijuana. The suspect told police that he was homeless.

At the time of the offense, Urias was employed as a teacher at Somerset College Prep, a different school also in Port St. Lucie, Blaze Media reported.

Urias was booked at the St. Lucie County Jail on several charges, which include lewd and lascivious behavior, burglary, possession of marijuana, and battery on a law enforcement officer. He was held on a $31,000 bond.

Officials at Somerset College Prep issued a statement saying the educational institution is cooperating with law enforcement authorities and were taking steps to “ensure that this individual does not return to our campus.” They also referred to Urias as a “formerly” employed teacher when communicating with parents regarding background checks.
