A Hays County (TX) sheriff’s deputy was shot early Friday when someone opened fire as officers responded to a report of a burglary at an antique store.

At a morning news conference, Casselberry Police Chief Larry Krantz said that his "officers acted admirably when faced with this situation.”

It happened just after 4 p.m. on Belmont Avenue between Milford Street and Logan Street in the East New York section.

Officers were called to a location on a report of a home invasion.
