Remote-Area Lighting

Pelican Products’ 9440 Remote Area Lighting System (RALS) features 10 next-generation LEDs and a beam spread of 120 degrees. Additionally, it offers two brightness settings that shine 2,400 lumens for 3 hours on the high setting and 1,200 for 6 hours on low. The light is powered by a maintenance-free, NiMH rechargeable battery. In addition, it runs silent and has no power cord, which eliminates trip hazards and emits no toxic fumes. The 9440, which weighs 16 lbs., includes a self-deploying tripod and a nylon shoulder strap. It also features a telescoping light tower, which extends more than 7 feet and a light array that articulates 90 degrees.

Forensic Inspector

Spectronics’ Tritan 365 features three ultra-high-flux UV-A LEDs and an ultra-high intensity, broad-beam UV/white light LED inspection lamp. The grip-mounted, three-way rocker switch allows the user to switch between light sources with ease. The flashlight uses a rechargeable NiMH battery that provides 2 hours of light but also comes with an 8- or 20-foot power cord with an AC plug for continuous use. A rubber bumper with a Borofloat glass lens protects the LEDs from damage in high-risk situations, and a built-in fan keeps the LEDs cool. The Tritan 365 weighs 16 oz. and is available in black.

Smart Baton

The Smartlock can either be discretely opened with two hands to full extension in a low profile manner or aggressively deployed with one hand in a high profile manner. A patented cam locking mechanism allows the Smartlock Baton to fully lock out when fully expanded. It closes with the simple push of a button. The weight balance and strike dynamics of the Smartlock Baton enables an officer to carry out less powerful strikes to temporarily disable an individual. The Baton is available in 16", 21" and 26" models.

Camera Kit

Zistos has introduced a new video accessory for its WalkAbout portable video system, which is used for tactical surveillance applications. The Through-the-Wall Video Camera Kit contains tools that allow the operator to view into a room from an adjacent room through the common wall. It contains a specialized bit designed to create an access hole through the first wall of sheetrock, and then drill a 3-mm observation hole through the second wall of sheetrock, into the adjacent room. A low-light camera with a pinhole zoom lens is then inserted into the access hole allowing tactical personnel to observe the occupants of the interior room while avoiding detection.
