The New York City Police Department is preparing for an Antifa group’s call for an anti-cop protest on Friday.
The New York City Police Benevolent Association warned of the threat that was posed by Antifa.
Antifa announced their intentions in an expletive-laced video calling the protests “J31” with the anti-cop protest being called “F— the Police 3.”
According to the video:
“We encourage you to link up with your friends, your family, and think of the ways you can move in affinity to build, and f— s— up on J31 all day long,” the Antifa message stated. “The mood for J31 is simple: F— your $2.75. No cops in the MTA, free transit, no harassment period, and full accessibility.”
The protest against the police is reportedly about a subway fares of $2.75.
Antifa claims that they will use a “diversity of tactics” to have their demands met. These demands include eliminating police presence from the subways, free transit, ending the harassment of “vendors and performers” and “full accessibility for people of varying abilities.”
The NYPD and Transit Police recently began cracking down on “fare jumpers” because of reported losses of $300 million dollars in 2019.
