A mother called a family meeting and only to gun down her two daughters in front of their father.
Police say Christy Sheats, 42, killed her daughters Madison Sheats, 17, and Taylor Sheats, 22, at her Katy (TX) home Friday.
She called a family meeting, and once they were in the living room, she opened fire. Her daughters and husband, Jason, 45 tried to flee as she continued shooting.
A witness said Christy went back into the home, reloaded, and came outside to again shoot Taylor, who was in the street. Her husband was not hurt.
Reports indicate that Christy had a history of mental illness and that law enforcement had responded to the residence previously. When police arrived, they fatally shot Christy.
“The armed shooter was also in the street and, after refusing to drop her weapon, was shot and killed by a Fulshear officer,” Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
Neighbors told police the couple had recently reconciled following a brief separation. Taylor was set to be married on Monday.
