GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. – The son of the man who is accused of the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump in Florida has been arrested by federal agents on child porn charges. This comes a little over a week after the second attempt on Trump’s life as he was golfing at his course in West Palm Beach, according to reports.
On Tuesday, Oran Routh, son of Ryan Routh, is expected to be in federal court on charges that include both receipt and possession of child pornography.
Hundreds of child porn files allegedly in Oran Routh’s possession were discovered by the FBI during a search on Saturday, ABC News reported.
The search was “in connection with an investigation unrelated to child exploitation,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Carolina confirmed. The raid was connected to the defendant’s father, Ryan Routh.
The child pornography was found on two cellphones located at the property, including one on Oran Routh and another found in a bedroom, the Daily Wire reported.
“A review of the SD card located in Device-1 revealed that it contained hundreds of child pornography files,” prosecutors said in court documents. “These files include videos from a known child pornography series created outside the state of North Carolina.”
The filing also noted, “Videos from the series depict minors engaged in sex acts including a video of an adult male engaging in oral, vaginal, and anal sex with a prepubescent female minor approximately 8-10 years of age,” reported the Post Millennial.

Following the second assassination attempt on Trump’s life, Oran Routh did an interview with the Daily Mail regarding his father. He said, “I don’t like Trump either,” while also claiming his Dad was “not a violent person.”
Ryan Routh is now facing charges related to the assassination attempt.
When the Daily Mail contacted Oran Routh, he said it was the first time he had heard about the second assassination attempt, but didn’t think his father owned a gun.
Later in a text to the news outlet, Oran Routh appeared to justify the second attempt on Trump’s life: “I hate this game every four years, and think that we all do, and if my father wants to be a martyr to how broken and disassociated the process has become from the real problems and practical solutions, then that’s his choice.”
“I’m not saying that’s what he’s done or what he’s about, that’s just my own rant being fed up with it all for my entire adult life,” he added in the text. “South Park said it best, every 4 years we’re forced to choose between a turd sandwich and a giant douche, and it all stays f*cked in the same ways by different degrees, and we’re exhausted and embarrassed by it all.”
The younger Routh was formally charged with receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
