An off-duty Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy rescued a toddler and her great-grandmother from a lake near his North Lauderdale home on November 1, 2016, according to a WSVN news report.
Sheriff’s deputy Vincent Graham was at home before his shift, when he heard someone screaming for help. Deputy Graham ran outside and looked to a nearby lake where he saw an elderly woman struggling in the water with a toddler.

Great-grandmother, 72-year-old Jaqueline Agard was trying to save her great-grandaughter, 2-year-old Miley McCrary, who ran after the family cat and dog into the lake.
Agard did not know how to swim and was struggling to save her grand-daughter when deputy Graham spotted the two and rescued them from the lake.
