LOS ANGELES — A deputy of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department–Carson Station, witnessed a car-to-car shooting, which led to a vehicle pursuit and subsequent crash Saturday night. At the termination point, three people were taken into custody, officials said.
“A Carson deputy was out patrolling the area of Central Avenue and University Drive when suspects in a vehicle shot at another vehicle right in front of him,” according to Carson Station’s Facebook page. “As soon as the deputy flipped on his lights and siren, the suspect’s vehicle took off heading East on University Drive. The pursuit was on!”
The agency continued, “Simultaneously, Carson deputies sprung into action, immediately descending upon the area, providing medical assistance for the victim, preserving the crime scene, and setting up a containment area. After traveling down University Drive a bit, the suspect’s vehicle flipped around and attempted to hit our deputy’s patrol car! The deputy remained cool, calm, and collected and persisted in pursuing the dangerous suspects.”
Carson Station added a little levity to the post.
“As the suspect’s vehicle attempted to head North on Wilmington Avenue, the vehicle collided with a center divider, and a suspect ran from the vehicle. Friends, this deputy in particular, has a lot of energy. He does his cardio. He walks into work perky and that is before he has his energy drink on board. Needless to say, the suspect was in cuffs pretty quickly.”
Included with Carson Station’s public release on Sunday were photos of the suspect’s vehicle and two seized firearms. Officials did not identify any of the suspects in custody and no further details were made known.
