Charlotte rioters recently issued a list of demands over the death of Keith Lamont Scott.
According to the list, rioters called for the de-funding of the police department; the money used for the police department should be re-allocated to jobs programs, affordable housing and transportation.

They want reparations for Scott’s family, families of those who have been killed by police and for those affected by “police violence.”
Rioters also demanded that police release all those who have been arrested during the Charlotte riots with all charges dropped.
They called for the “end to the repression and targeting of protesters and all those engaged in the Charlotte uprising.” Rioters also demanded that the current State of Emergency and curfew be ended, along with the removal of the National Guard.
A website was set up asking for the demands and for others to sign the petition. The petition sates in part, “In 2015, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department was among 14 large police departments in the U.S. who ONLY killed Black people.”
Keith Scott was shot after the police gave him numerous commands to drop his gun. The police officer that shot Scott was black as well as the police chief.
