NEW YORK — On a night when the New York State University Police presented colors at the Nassau Coliseum, hockey fans roared with energy as they belted out the National Anthem before the New York Islanders defeated the Boston Bruins in a viral moment that is sure to give anyone with a sense of patriotism the chills.

Nicole Raviv regularly performs “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Islander games at the Coliseum. However, on Wednesday night she was overpowered by the crowd. At one point she even turned over the microphone to the fans, Fox News reported.

“My heart is full. The coliseum will forever have the best backup singers in the #NHL,” Raviv wrote on Twitter.

The synergistic performance—where everyone was standing—was a “drop the mic” moment.
