NEW YORK — New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation Tuesday morning amid the mounting pressure from the ongoing sexual assault allegations. He is set to leave office in 14 days.
Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany referred to it as a “stunning downfall of the Democrats darling.”
Cuomo’s announcement was unexpected as he’s consistently said he was set to fight. That has now changed as his resignation will be effective in two weeks.
Harris Faulkner of Fox News said, “He couldn’t cut a deal, so he resigned. … We will never know the whole story until people begin talking, which is something the victim’s are doing. … He could be a very busy guy for a very long time if the law continues its pursuit.”
