Charles Humes To Receive ‘Distinguished Law Enforcement Training Award’

Law Officer Editorial Team Member and long time Columnist Sgt. Charles E. Humes, Jr. (Ret]  has been selected as a 2016 recipient of the Ohio Distinguished Law Enforcement Training Award from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

A member of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission chairs the Law Enforcement Awards Committee.   Members of the awards committee represent: the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association, the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio, the National Organization of Black Law enforcement Executives, a representative of the public, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Humes will be honored and presented the training plaque at the 2016  Law Enforcement Awards Luncheon, held as part of the Ohio Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Conference in Columbus, Ohio next month.

On behalf of Law Officer, we congratulate Sgt. Humes and applaud him for a lifetime of commitment to his community and to the safety of law enforcement across the country.
