And upon further investigation, the airport officers determined Trask’s identity—and that he was wanted for cirminal charges that involved sharing more than 700 images and 10 videos of child-exploitation.

Trasks’ child pornography included sex acts with toddlers

Some of the child-pornography media that Trask had shared depicted sadomasochism and sex acts with toddlers, according to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement “wanted” bulletin about Trask.

Before his arrest by airport police, Trask was last seen in December, 2012. It was not disclosed whether Trask was traveling to or from the airport when he was stopped.

Airport spokeswoman Sammy Loud stated that “The [airport] police department and the FBI are still working together on the case and still unraveling who this guy is.”

ICE: great work by Fairbanks airport police

James Schwab, an ICE spokesman in San Francisco said that as of Thursday afternoon, Trask was in custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and awaiting his transfer and return to California. Trask formerly lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, and worked as a paramedic there before absconding, after being charged with possession and distribution of child pornography in the U.S. District Court Northern District of San Fransisco on Nov. 29, 2012.

Schwab also reported that, “One thing we really want to highlight is the great work by the Fairbanks airport police.” Schwab emphasized how “the capture would not have been possible” without the attention to detail and effort of the a Fairbanks International airport police officers.
