It has been widely reported that Terence Crutcher had PCP in his system at the time that he was shot and killed by Tulsa Police Officer Betty Shelby but for some reason the vast majority of media outlets are either not reporting his use of Tenocyclidine (TCP) or are just barely mentioning it.
PCP is bad and many police officers have been killed by “unarmed” individuals that are on it but TCP is something entirely different.

If TCP is considered a cousin of PCP, then it’s a cousin that should never be allowed in the presence of others.
Drugs-Forum lists Tenocyclidine (TCP) “considerably more potent” than PCP.
It is a rare drug that one expert told us would have a better use as a “chemical weapon” than a drug someone would take. It is said to cause more hallucinations, more dissociation and more stimulation than PCP.
An experienced drug user said that TCP is “in a whole other league” and using it is not advised.
While Crutcher’s family says that his use of PCP and TCP have nothing to do with the incident, the truth is, it has everything to do with it. It will likely be a centerpiece for the defense in regards to what the law says about the situation.
Would a “reasonable officer” given a similar situation act in the same way? It’s easy for one to watch 10 seconds of the video and claim “murder” but it will be up to a jury to look at the entire incident which includes the minutes prior to the video, his behavior, actions and what a “reasonable officer” knows about PCP and in this case, it’s evil twin, TCP as well.
Police officers know this. When it comes to PCP alone, it’s one of the most dangerous situations anyone can be in Now, combine that with TCP use.

Indeed, in the Tulsa Incident, it wasn’t offered until weeks later but now we know and it will play a prominent role as this case moves forward.
