SAN FRANCISCO — A photo posted by the San Francisco Police Department showing a woman leaning out of a moving vehicle while holding an AK-47 is getting a lot of attention as crime has spiked in the Bay area city.
“During an illegal exhibition of speed event at Barneveld & McKinnon, a passenger leaned out of a Cadi holding an AK47; see photo. SFPD Traffic Company personnel worked up a case, and seized this particular vehicle today,” the San Francisco Police Department wrote on Twitter, showing the photos.

The Cadillac in question was located by authorities and towed on Wednesday, Fox News reported. SFPD did not comment further on the matter or say whether anyone was in custody.
The photo op incident comes after police reported an increase in shootings and assaults in the city during the first six months of 2021.
The city reported 119 shootings, both fatal and non-fatal, for the first six months of 2021, compared to 58 in the first half of last year.
“We’re almost double where we were in the last two years, and that is a huge concern,” Police Chief Bill Scott told reporters last month.
Meanwhile, property crime in San Francisco goes relatively unabated as scores of shoplifters are routinely video recorded walking out of stores with an armful of merchandise.
