It would come natural for police officers and active and retired military veterans to be disgusted by Nike’s move to get in bed with Colin Kaepernick. No one would be wrong for pointing out our obvious bias. Our profession has been under attack for years.
What is difficult to decipher, is how one of the most profitable companies in the history of the world doesn’t have a single employee who could perform any type of research before going all in on an imaginary purpose at the root of Kaepernick’s protest.
First and foremost, He QUIT his job.
He wasn’t forced out of anything for his unfounded beliefs. He had a year left on a several million dollar contract that HE opted out of. Had he stayed with his team and performed at an above average level throughout the season, he’d be with an NFL organization right now.
The NFL will always turn a blind eye away from a star and ignore controversy…..if the player has talent.
After all, the NFL has produced almost 1,000 arrests less than 18 full years into this century.
A little research by Nike would have shown that he truly doesn’t understand what he protests. The man couldn’t identify police brutality even if he was on the wrong end of it.
His examples of police brutality are people like Sandra Bland. Multiple autopsies and an FBI investigation overseen by Obama’s DOJ concluded she committed suicide. Why would the DOJ under President Obama rule suicide?
Another of Kraperdouche’s examples is Alton Sterling. Calling the use of deadly force against Sterling a “state sanctioned lynching”, Krappy obviously never watched the video.
The police were called to the scene by someone claiming that Sterling pulled a firearm on them. Officers responding not only knew this was a pattern for Sterling but just a few weeks earlier they had a violent encounter with him. The full video shows a number of attempts at de-escalation as well as every level of the force continuum being applied.
They tried command presence.
When that didn’t work, they tried verbal commands.
Then louder verbal commands.
Then Physical force.
Then they used less lethal force twice. The taser had no effect.
Then, with no other option and Sterling reaching for the gun, deadly force was used. Once again, under President Obama, the DOJ ruled the shooting appropriate.
This is what Nike believes in?
Nike doesn’t have one sweat shop employee that could have spent a few minutes watching the Sterling video.
Apparently none of his fellow supporting players have watched it either. Fellow former player Randy Moss stood in solidarity at his Hall of Fame ceremony while wearing a tie commemorating 13 African Americans killed by big bad racist cops. We’ve never once heard Krappy or Moss or any other player urge people to cooperate with police.
President Trump recently said the following:
The NFL players are at it again – taking a knee when they should be standing proudly for the National Anthem. Numerous players, from different teams, wanted to show their “outrage” at something that most of them are unable to define. They make a fortune doing what they love……
The great Randy Moss proves him right. They are unable to define what they are protesting. Moss used Trayvon Martin as one of his 13. I know it’s hard to understand, but it should be stated for the millionth gazzillionth time….TRAYVON MARTIN WAS NOT KILLED BY A COP!!! He was killed by a civilian. A Hispanic civilian to be exact. In fact, only one name in the Moss 13 could actually be considered an actual murder, Walter Scott.
And guess what, those that truly care know that the officer that shot and killed Scott is serving a prison sentence after pleading guilty in Federal Court. Those on that side of the argument never speak of the Walter Scott case. Short of a quick hashtag, Krappy hasn’t addressed it. It proves that bad shootings are dealt with properly.
Admitting that justice comes for bad cops would be admitting that we’ve made great progress.
Progress for race baiting dicktards is bad for business.
Progress would stop producing multi-millionaire, television star reverends.
Progress would send Shaun King to the welfare office.
Krapernick, and now by extension Nike, are in the business of resisting progress.
And shitting all over those that would give their lives for them both here and abroad.
