Washington D.C. – The Senate approved voted 51-49 to confirm Kash Patel as the new FBI director. In a surprise, Senator Mitch McConnell voted yes while moderate conservatives Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Susan Collins (Maine) voted no.
While highly acclaimed through years of service in the DOJ and within the government, Patel drew criticism from democrats because of his claims that the FBI had been weaponized politically.
In 2023, Patel wrote a book titled, “Government Gangsters: The Deep State, the Truth, and the Battle for Our Democracy”
