Law Officer Editor Dale Stockton speaks with Italian Polizia Stradale Officer Massimiliano Finore alongside the department s Lamborghini Gallardo at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference 2006. Donated by the Lamborghini Corporation, the car is driven only by specially trained officers and can reach 200 mph. According to Finore, the Gallardo has proved invaluable in stopping high-speed violators and has also become quite useful as a public-relations tool. He says the public has been amazed by the car and officers must use care because other drivers often slow down to take a look when the car is on an enforcement stop. The department recently obtained a second Gallardo as a result of a donation from an independent organization.
