Contract Halted On Memphis Police Counselor That Posted ‘Thugs In Blue’

The city of Memphis has severed ties with a counselor who worked with first responders, after disparaging comments about police officers on Facebook came to light.

Earlier this month she referred to police as “thugs in blue” but on February 16th she claimed that she was “hacked” and that she did not write the post.

We broke the story last week that Davis had written a similar post describing cops as “thugs in blue” back in July, just after five Dallas area cops were slain.

hackedSince last fall, Davis had been teaching a class to Memphis police officers on how to deal with stress.

In a statement, an MPD spokesperson said, “The administration and the police department believe it is in the best interest of police and other first responders that the city sever ties with Kelli Davis and Merci Counseling Services.”
