WASHINGTON — We hoped that Biden would have taken steps to bring an end to the wave of violence on America’s streets. However, instead of taking some of the basic steps we pointed out, Biden failed miserably. And rather than leading with specific and well-researched proposals that would reduce violent crime in America, he continued to push ineffective measures that do little more than demonstrate woke-speak.
For example, rather than talking about violent criminals in every major American city, Biden attacked gun shops and threatened them with “zero tolerance” for gun dealers who willfully violate the law. There should always be “zero tolerance” for gun shops that violate the law. But what about the thugs on the streets? Biden offered nothing to address that bigger issue.
While Biden blamed legitimate gun shops while attacking “Second Amendment Activists,” anyone in the middle of the largest crime surge in thirty years will tell you that criminals don’t walk into retail establishments and buy guns—because gun shops already conduct extensive background investigations and felons cannot buy guns legally. Biden attacked ghost guns, which make up less than 3% of all guns and 100-round magazines.
We had encouraged Biden to repeat his push for the 1994 Crime Bill funding that placed 100,000 additional cops on the street, which saved thousands of lives each year. Instead, Biden touted COVID-19 relief money and his administration pushed for it not to be used for law enforcement—but for alternatives to policing?
Biden concluded his quest for political gain by telling America he will be pushing for hiring programs so violent offenders will “pick up a paycheck instead of a pistol.”
Because after all, people commit murder and mayhem not because they are violent sociopaths—they just need a better paycheck?
Biden and his democratic allies also revealed how they are likely going to spin their failure in preventing skyrocketing crime—and how woke stupidity is responsible for most of it.
Of course, as many of us suspected, the violence that rages is not because of failed political ideas—such as defunding the police—but it’s because of cops are to blame, or Republicans are to blame, and who can forget how of course, Trump is to blame.
Clearly, in the age of demanding accountability, Biden has failed to hold himself accountable. And of course, like most woke-minded fools, he unfortunately blamed everyone and everything else—while offering solutions that are already in place or do nothing to substantially accomplish anything.
So if Biden meant to actually help America, it seems like he’s only helping himself to an opportunity to pander to the public with do-nothing ideas.
