MILLER COUNTY, Arkansas – Miller County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has arrested a deputy who allegedly stole from the K-9 funds by making multiple unauthorized purchases online.

In November, the Miller County Sheriff’s Office discovered irregularities in its K-9 account, with multiple withdrawals made without authorization.

The issue was identified during routine financial oversight procedures, which revealed discrepancies between the account balance and recorded expenditures.

The amount of unapproved withdrawals was $9,758.33, according to KSLA.

Reviews determined that no supervisor authorized the withdrawals. According to MCSO, Deputy Shane Johnston was identified through bank records and internal documentation as the suspect in the investigation.
