Orlando (Fla.) Police Department Officer Alfred Gordon was shot and killed Oct. 4 when he attempted to take police action during a robbery while off-duty. The 52-year-old officer had gone to an ATM in Orange County and was approached by two juveniles armed with a handgun. Gordon was shot twice and found in his car a short time later by an off-duty Orange County Sheriff s Office deputy. The two juveniles were arrested two days later and charged in connection with Gordon s murder.
Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as an MP for 11 years. He had served with the Orlando Police Department for 18.5 years. He is survived by his son.
