WHEATON, Ill. – Illinois police officers have no doubt shoveled their share of snow, but how many have been asked to shovel donuts? Sunday officers responded to a traffic hazard that looked more like a practical joke when they arrived to find dozens of donuts scattered onto the street.
Two officers from the Wheaton Police Department responded to Naperville Road in Illinois where as many as 60 donuts were left in the intersection, WLS reported.

A Chicago-based lawyer snapped a video of the police officer providing a public service by cleaning up the mess. It was shared on Twitter with the caption, “A thing I saw yesterday in Wheaton.”
With snow shovels and buckets, the officers appeared to make quick work of the sticky situation, scooping them up and compacting donuts, which were reportedly a day old, into buckets.
It was not immediately clear how the “road hazard” ended up there and Wheaton Police did not release any further information on the clean-up.
As always, the police should be thanked for their public service.
