On a typical night at the Orlando airport, Michael Pettigrew walked inside, showed a female transportation employee a gun and ordered her to call 911 on his cell phone.

I don’t blame civilians for not understanding something that doesn’t apply to them.

Officers have a higher chance of killing someone or being killed because of the nature of the job. Officers encounter the worst people in society and their minds are shaped by that reality.

There is no doubt in my mind that this officer was tired of kids walking in his lawn.

This is a great example of how everyone can be right and wrong at the same time. Here is my opinion based on the video and information provided.

Sometimes it is absolutely impossible to determine if an officer is racist or if he is responding based on experience and factors presented to him.

The problem with people is that neither side can relate to each other. People aren't informed as to why officers do what they do and they immediately begin to interpret the actions of officers from their civilian point of view.

I do not condone police brutality, but officers are allowed to protect themselves until they can determine what is going on regarding a situation.

Many people take issue with male officers using force on women. There have been officers who took things too far, but majority of the incidents that people complain about are justified and this situation proves why that is so.
