HONOLULU, Hawaii – Two Honolulu police officers were killed Sunday morning in a shooting near Diamond Head. Officers responded to a residence after the report of an assault and were met with gunfire upon arrival.
A female officer was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died.
Honolulu Police Chief Susan Ballard along with dozens of officers were observed arriving t the hospital.
According to Hawaii News Now, a second officer has also died.
Following the shooting, at approximately 9:45 am, the home where the incident occurred became fully engulfed in flames.
Sources tell Law Officer that several other homes are on fire along with police vehicles.
Special Operation Teams have flooded the area searching for the suspect.
There have been no arrests made.
