Two officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department were taken to hospital after two police vehicles collided while responding to an emergency call Monday morning.
The collision happened at Patterson Avenue and 5th Street about 6 a.m. as police responded to a call for help at the Forsyth County Dentention Center, where an officer was struggling with an inmate, the police department said.
VanBuren, a veteran with two years of service, was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where is being treated.
Gonzalez, who has been an officer for 2½ years, was taken to Forsyth Medical Center where he was treated and released.
