The City of Chandler Police Department is seeking to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer Recruit! All candidates must take the FrontLine National exam through National Testing Network to be considered further in the hiring process.

The department requires the candidate Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA) You can access this through your candidate account. NTN suggests completing the PSSA as soon as possible so there is not a delay in your process.

Candidates will need to apply to NeoGov from 06/21/21 – 08/15/21.

Department Overview: 

The Chandler Police Department (CPD) employs 334 sworn officers and 171 civilians. CPD serves a growing population of close to 270,000 residents as of January 2021. The organization is divided into two divisions and one bureau.

PATROL DIVISION:

There are three precincts to meet the needs of the community.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT BUREAU:

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES DIVISON:

Criminal Investigations Bureau

The Criminal Investigations Bureau is organized into three Sections:  Person’s Crimes, Property Crimes, and Special Investigations.

Operational Support Bureau

The Operational Support Bureau is comprised of the following sections and units:  S.W.A.T., Criminal Apprehension Team, K-9, Traffic Enforcement Unit, Vehicular Crime Unit, Bike Unit, Training Unit, Fire Arms Training Unit and the Community Resources Section which has; School Resource Officers Unit, Volunteers in Policing and the Community Resources Unit which has; Police Cadet Program, Park Rangers, Police Officer Reserve Program, Crisis Intervention Team, and major City Wide Crime Prevention Events.

Support Services, Forensic Services, Communications, & Technology Sections

The Support Services Section is organized into two Units:  Records and Property & Evidence.  The Forensic Services Section is composed of the Crime Scene Unit and a Forensic Science Team.  Both are managed by an Administration group.

The Communications Section is the Department’s Dispatch and Communications Support group.  The Technology Section is organized by a Technology Support group.

Planning & Research Section

The Planning & Research Section is organized into two Units:  Planning & Research and Crime Analysis & Research.  This Section provides administrative, strategic, and tactical information essential to the accomplishment of the department’s mission.
