An auto-theft suspect led police on a vehicle pursuit, which ended when the suspect attempted to bail—and was runover by the very car he allegedly stole.
According to a KTRK news report, an officer in Washington state with the Pasco Police Department observed a damaged Toyota driving in the area where a crash had been reported. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, leading to a vehicle pursuit across the city.

The pursuit came to bizzare end when the front wheel of the stolen vehicle fell off. The suspect jumped from the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but his escape took a strange turn…
The suspect’s sleeve got caught on the door as he bailed out, causing him to fall to the ground—then the car he allegedly stole ran over him, and dragged him “about a car-length” according to police estimates.
The suspect, identified as Brandon Arrieta, was then trapped under the car, during which time Pasco Police officers were able to detain and arrest him. Arrieta was treated and charged with vehicle theft, eluding, and other criminal charges.
